Welcome to Sewickley

Picturesque and sophisticated towns with a close-knit sense of community just outside of Pittsburgh

Along the Ohio River and just outside of Central Pittsburgh are some of Pennsylvania’s most attractive and charming communities. With various neighborhoods such as Edgeworth, Glen Osborne, Sewickley, Sewickley Heights, Leet, and Bell Acres, Quaker Valley’s incredible location, bucolic scenery, and close-knit communities have made it an ideal area for young professionals, business owners, and families alike.

Originally used for agriculture like much of the surrounding area, the communities of Quaker Valley quickly became popular with professionals looking to escape the pollution and disruption caused by the industrial growth of Pittsburgh.

Nowadays, the area is known for its family-friendly atmosphere, picturesque local landscape, and it’s beautiful sprawling properties. There are a variety of homes in the area ranging from mid-century modern ranches to stunning Victorian estates ensuring that every resident can find the perfect house to fit their expectations.

People & Lifestyle

The numerous advantages offered to homeowners in the Sewickley Area have helped turn this area into one of the most attractive and affluent in Pennsylvania. Edgeworth and Sewickley Hills are some of the most sought-after and luxurious communities in the area, with many homeowners earning more than twice the national average and most homes being valued at $600,000 and up. However, many communities such as Osborne, Bell Acres, and Leet have remained much more reasonably affordable.

Living an active and healthy lifestyle is common throughout Quaker Valley, and many homeowners enjoy taking advantage of the numerous walking paths, trails, and recreational areas throughout the various towns.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Sewickley’s dining scene is, without a doubt, one of the best in Pennsylvania. Mediterra Cafe is definitely one of the local favorites. Their exceptional breakfast and lunch menu has been thrilling guests with dishes like milk bread French toast, shakshuka, and an outstanding grilled tuna melt on sesame semolina (my favorite).

Mambo Italia is the best place to enjoy authentic Neapolitan cuisine. Their menu includes homemade pork and veal meatballs, specialty pizzas, and a beautiful shrimp scampi pasta.

Award-winning Vivo Kitchen is one of the most popular spots in town. Their focus on fresh, local ingredients and innovative dishes like pan-roasted forest mushrooms, shrimp with mango chutney, and Australian lamb chops with red wine gastrique have put them on the map.

The local shopping opportunities are also some of the best around, with unique boutiques and elegant shops throughout every community. 412 Style Lab is the best place to get fun and stylish shoes and accessories to help make any outfit. Their friendly and inviting atmosphere offers every guest the opportunity to explore their own sense of style and creativity.

Within the park’s 20 pristinely maintained acres, visitors can enjoy numerous walking paths, green areas, and a state-of-the-art playground.

The area also offers a variety of annual events for residents to visit. The Day on the Lawn is a wonderful family-friendly event put on by the local Presbyterian Church.
